Don't Put Hard Items In Your Garbage Disposal
Placing hard or stringy things into your garbage disposal can cause it to clog or jam. Products such as corn cobs, corn husks, celery, and bones can all clog your disposal and lead to issues. Never place these or other similar types of food scraps or objects into the disposal. If you do end up with an issue, you can turn the power off to the disposal, then remove the disposal beneath the sink to get to the blades. Remove anything wrapped up in the blades, or if it's stuck in the drain opening itself, remove the item, but be sure the disposal has no power going to it to prevent injury.
Never Put Anything Other Than Toilet Paper In Your Toilet Drain
Your toilet drain is likely sensitive and will eventually clog if you try to flush anything other than toilet paper and waste. Don't flush feminine products or wipes, even if they say they are flushable. Never flush paper towels, diapers, or baby wipes either, as they will surely clog your toilet. If you end up with a clog, use your plunger and hold it over the opening. Press into the plunger to create a suction, then move it up and down without pulling it out of the toilet to suck the clog out of the drain.
